The Wide Wing System Jr. is here! Discover our latest Wide Wing innovation.

Right-sized Wide Wing performance for urban and municipal snow operations

The Wide Wing System Jr. (WWS Jr.) delivers the same patented Wide Wing technology trusted by DOTs, municipalities and contractors across North America, optimized for applications where a full Wide Wing System would be oversized or unnecessary.

Designed specifically for urban and municipal routes, WWS Jr. provides exceptional clearing efficiency on multilane roads, with or without shoulders, while maintaining a more compact footprint and optimized vehicle configuration.

Same patented Wide Wing technology

WWS Jr. uses the same patented lateral deployment and retraction technology as the original Wide Wing System, protected in both Canada and the United States.

This proven design allows operators to transition smoothly from 0 to full width, adapting instantly to intersections, traffic conditions, and changing road profiles, without stopping or changing equipment. The result is improved productivity, cleaner passes, and greater operational control in complex environments.

Optimized clearing width for real-world routes

When paired with a 14’ front plow set at 30°, WWS Jr. delivers over 22’+ of effective clearing width, making it ideal for multilane roads where efficiency matters more than maximum body capacity.

The wing itself measures 17’ in length and features a 16” cutting edge, providing the durability and wear life expected in demanding municipal operations. This heavy-duty configuration ensures consistent performance across long winter seasons, even in abrasive urban conditions.

Built for urban and municipal applications

WWS Jr. was developed to address a specific operational gap: routes where a traditional wing lacks productivity, but a full Wide Wing System is not optimized.

It is perfectly suited for:

  • Multilane urban roadways

  • Municipal routes with frequent intersections

  • Roads with or without paved shoulders

  • Overpasses and constrained environments

  • Fleets prioritizing efficiency, maneuverability, and consistency

By focusing on precision rather than excess capacity, WWS Jr. allows operators to maximize productivity without unnecessary size or complexity.

Fleet and body compatibility

WWS Jr. integrates seamlessly into modern snow fleets and is compatible with all Alamo Snow & Ice bodies, allowing municipalities and contractors to maintain consistency across their equipment lineup.

The system is designed primarily for tandem truck applications, while remaining suitable for triaxle and tridem configurations, a unique advantage that provides greater flexibility for fleets with diverse vehicle setups.

Designed for durability and reliability

Every component of the Wide Wing System Jr. is engineered to meet the same durability standards as the original Wide Wing System. From its heavy-duty cutting edge to its proven deployment geometry, WWS Jr. is built for long service life, reduced maintenance, and dependable performance in harsh winter conditions.

This is not a downsized or entry-level solution, it is a purpose-built Wide Wing designed for specific operational needs.

Wide Wing performance, optimized

WWS Jr. delivers the core benefits that made the Wide Wing System a benchmark in snow removal, now optimized for urban and municipal routes that demand efficiency, adaptability, and precision.

For fleets looking to increase clearing productivity without overbuilding their equipment, the Wide Wing System Jr. offers the right balance of performance and optimization.
